Most people see their dentist once they are in pain. They often forget about checkups having done the “job” at the dentist’s and having “fixed the teeth”. It is very necessary to stress the importance of regular checkups, the aim of which is to maintain the achieved condition following dental procedures, into which a lot of effort, time and money will have been invested. The period in between the checkups should not exceed 6 months. In the case of patients who have periodontal issues and who have extensive prosthetics procedures or implants – the period is even shorter and must be adjusted to individual requirements. One must understand the mouth and teeth form a single ’whole’ under constant duress due to chewing and hosts of bacteria that live within.
